"Drawing the Dream House"
"Drawing the Dream House" is the name of the children drawing contest for foster children held in Petrozavodsk November 1-31, 2000.
The initiators of the contest is the Karelian public youthful organization "Equilibrium" and the Karelian branch of the Russian Fund of Culture, and the editorial board of the newspaper "The Komsomolskaya Pravda".
The exhibition was open by the former pupil of a foster house A. Gezalov. Zifa Yusupova congratulated the children on behalf of the Karelian branch of the Russian Fund of Culture.
Then the famous painters Valentin Chekmasov and Boris Pomortsev told the children about their own way in arts. They appealed to the young painters: "If you wish to be a painter - be a painter!"
The children were greeted by the correspondent of the newspaper "The Komsomolskaya Pravda" Maria Kuznetsova, the archpriest of the Alexander Nevsky Cathedral Father Ioann, the director of the exhibition hall "Ligea" Natalya Igrakova.
The opening day of the exhibition was concluded by awarding the winners. The gifts and prizes were given to boarding school N2, Marina Fedintseva from boarding school N15, Sasha Boskin from foster school N2 of Petrozavodsk, Nikolai Leonov from specialized school N8, and Ivan Ivanov from foster school of the settlement Salmi.
The children were wished every success. Hopefully, in the future some of them might make good painters, and their work titled "My Dream House" will be exhibited in museums of fine arts.
